• The Port has introduced maximum security measures and procedures and is International Ship and Port Facility Security Code (ISPS) compliant.

• The turnaround time for container vessels is 12 to 15 hours.

• The Port of Walvis Bay is a congestion free port with minimum delays.  The Port currently handles 5 million tonnes.  Its total capacity equips it to handle 7 to 8 million tonnes of cargo.
• Shipping time form Europe is typically 8 days faster when going to Walvis Bay as compared to Durban.

TRANS KALAHARI ROAD LINK PROVIDES A CONTINUOUS ROAD LINK FROM WALVIS BAY, THROUGH BOTSWANA TO GAUTEN, SOUTH AFRICA.

• Trans-Kalahari Corridor is a tarred highway corridor that stretches over 1900km.  Provides a direct route from Walvis Bay through Botswana, to Johannesburg.  Commercial traffic clearance is between 20 to 30 minutes at the border points on the Corridor.

• The Mamuno/Buitepos border post on the Trans-Kalahari Highway is open from 07:00 to 24:00 thus preventing holdups during border crossings.
